ABOUT ME

I'm passionate about a few things: community, helping people and the environment, triple bottom line type projects, ultimate frisbee, hockey, learning languages, laughing, making people laugh, international development, Canadian politics, eating good food and occasional game of chess or poker.

I have been to the far reaches of Central Asia (Tajikistan) and lived on a tall ship for 8 months and sailed across the Atlantic Ocean twice. I am now dedicated to contributing my strengths and enthusiasm to helping further develop sustainable economy and lifestyles in my hometown and province.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Same reasons as most. Enriching travel through meeting other people and also being able to travel at home when couchsurfervs visit.

Music: House and Dance Music mainly, but I like everything.
Movies: Most post-apocalyptic type movies, or sci-fi movies with aliens/contact!
TV: Survivor, Breaking Bad (I cried when it ended)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in Central Asia, Tajikistan, on the border with Uzbekistan.
Learned Russian
Crossed Russia using trans-siberian railway
Lived and sailed for 8 months on the tall ship "Sorlandet" as part of Class Afloat
Successfully led a team that built an ultimate frisbee league in PEI
Part of Team Canada at the Sochi 2014 Olympics. Lived in the Olympic Village, behind the scenes and was able to go to many sports events, including gold medal hockey games.
