About Me

Laid-back, pretty sarcastic and funny Medical Sciences student from London. Peanut butter and vegan cheesecake lover who comes from Poland. Always looking for new experiences and gets bored if stays in one place for too long! Appreciates beauty in smallest moments and things. Has two moods: sleeping for two days or buying random tickets for next morning flights to another country or events in cities 300 km away (and informing my friends that we are going once I buy everything; apparently my best and worst quality at the same time!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I moved to England fouryears ago, I have met so many people from around the globe who are my best friends now. Meeting people, making great memories, seeing new places, trying new food is basically what matters in life for me.

Interests

A huge theatre and concert goer and being in London now, I drag all my friends to see new plays and musicals. Not an artist myself though (apart from creating modular origami, pen drawing and pretty decent food photography). A big fan of cooking and baking who hopes to open a bakery in south Italy one day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Punk and Alternative Rock (bands like Green Day, Rise Against, Gaslight Anthem, Social Distortion, Goo Goo Dolls, The Clash) good old 60s Rock, Jazz, Indie Rock (recently literally fell in love with Lord Huron and Vance Joy), ANYTHING from the 80s (gigs in the UK in the 80s must have been insane!) movie soundtracks, especially those created by Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. I also have a soft spot for any music from musicals.

A massive fan of GoT (let's forget season 8, ok?) . My favourite artist is Tim Burton, watched all his movies multiple times and even have a bunch of tattoos connected with them! My favourite movie of his is Big Fish. I also love love Wes Anderson and his aesthetics.

My favourite writer is Jodi Picoult, I have read all her books, I just love her down to Earth style and honest and open approach to even most controversial topics. My favourite book is "Little Prince" though. I also enjoy anything by Matt Haig and Neil Gaiman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Won a scholarship to England to a boarding school on my own after living my whole life in Poland.

Hitchiking in the Lake District without even having a phone with me for over a week - gotta do it more often!

Flying from London back to Poland just to take a bus to Hannover in the middle of the night and travel 10 hours to see one of my favourite bands from 70s and enjoy a concert in the middle of nowhere with a group of drunken Germans who did not even speak English.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have always been curious about other countries and can't imagine living in one place too long. After uni, I am planning on travelling and never settling in in one place. Before that I wanna experience the most I can and use Couchsurfing not as a hotel but more as exchanging stories meeting people I would have never see otherwise and just gaining life knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Half of my friends actually work at the restaurants and the other half can't cook at all, so I use the experience of the friends-chefs to feed the others. I can therefore offer you a decent meal and a drink or two. Or three. Or ten.
Whenever I can, I wanna show my guests around. I love London but I much prefer to view all the sites with people who are new to the city and for whom everything is still new and exciting as it makes me redescover the beauty of London over and over.
I can pick you up from any place in London if I am not at uni/work!
