About Me
Hello !
I'm Mud. (My name is MUD, so please don’t call me Maud)
My pronouns are they/them but you can sometimes use she/he if you are not confortable with it.
I’m back on Couchsurfing after a while not using it.
I’m currently an online student in third year of a sociology degree, with the University of Toulouse, even though I’m living in Lyon, the city where I rested between my multiple trips the past few years.
NOT IN LYON BEFORE JULY
On May 2018, I decided to stop my studies to realise my dreams : traveling by hitchhiking, experiencing the world, writing poems, a book and meeting other people and myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I use Couchsurfing because I want to meet locals, other travelers. Hosting and being hosted is a way to share culture, stories, and have an other perspective. CS gives value of something else than an exchange based on money, and it is really important for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have participed 3 times at Ozora Festival (2016, 2017, 2019) in Hungary. (Going back this summer yeeeeeahhhhh!)
I hitchhiked alone during two weeks on 1500 km in August 2017 in Europe. It was my first trip by myself, and my first time hitchhiking and using Couchsurfing.
On May 2018, I have been volunteering one month in a Buddhist Center, in England. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, with so much love, kindness, and peace. There, I have learned how to meditate, and the buddhist values which have impacted my mind and my way of thinking.
In June and August 2018, I bought a tent, a sleeping bag and traveled without money - by choice - in Scotland and Ireland in order to meet people and get out of my confort zone.
I did that again in Portugal and Spain on November and December 2018.
From March to May 2019, I traveled in USA by hitchhiking and by bus, visiting the National Parks (Yosemite, Zion, Bryce, Joshua Tree), Slab City, San Francisco, Los Angeles.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook vegan food.
I can also show how I get leftover food from markets or dumpster diving.
I love to share my experiences about hitchhiking, traveling without money, or how to make a light bagback.
I have also a lot of books to share. It’s principally in French but some are in English. :)
