About Me

CURRENT MISSION

For now, my goals are to build a strong yoga and meditation routine, since I'm starting a yoga teacher training in September. I also want to practice my Spanish. I need someone to have conversations, if you are interested PM me I'm very nice. :)

As for traveling, I wanna go to India to study yoga. I would maybe go to Rishikesh for a specialisation in Kundalini yoga or pranayama. I would also like to visit more South America (Peru and Guatemala in particular) and maybe stop visiting my friends in Mexico on the way there.

ABOUT ME
When I'm scared of something I know I have to do it. I believe we can only regret what we didn't do. Most importantly, I try to always keep in mind that life has only one purpose : happiness.

If I had to choose one word to describe myself it would be "passionate". I love learning and I see everything as an opportunity to grow. I also want to speak every langages on Earth (and invent my own, because why not ?). :p

I absolutely love teaching, which is why I want to be a French teacher when I graduate. My specialisation is teaching French as a second language and my goal is to teach to immigrants at the same time as helping them integrate my beautiful country/province (because Quebec is pretty different than the rest of Canada). So if you want to learn French or learn more about my culture, I'd be glad to give you a hand.

I believe we are all one, or at least all connected. Conflict is always a misunderstanding. Buddhism, meditation (Vipassana especially) and yoga have a major influence on my way of thinking.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to discover new ways of thinking and living as I explore different cultures. I deeply believe intelligence comes down to curiosity and always staying open.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I meet locals and travelers through CS, but I haven't been to a lot of events yet. I haven't been hosted very often either, but it's always been an amazing experience.

I could eventually host people now that I have my own place. But since i have a 18 month old little princess half the time, it makes it a little bit more complicated. :p

Interests

I play guitare (and piano a little). I also like singing, I'm really interested in discovering Kirtan (message me if you know of any events of the sort, I'd be glad to accompany you and get introduced to mantra chanting). If you are a musician, we could have lots of fun together. But you'll have to be indulgent since I've learned it all by myself and am not used to play with people.

I also love running. I'm always looking for running partners. I've run 5 marathons so far. But don't worry, I'm not in the best shape since I've had my daughter and my cardio is not what it used to be so you will be able to keep up with me. :)

I love talking about food, feminism, literature, spirituality, yoga, philosophy, animal rights, veganism/vegetarianism, travel and culture in general.

I am not a partier/clubber. Not that I am not open to have good experiences of the sort, but every time I try it just doesn't feel very natural. I do like Piknic Electronik though, because it's outdoors and early in the day.

Music, Movies, and Books

For those who want to travel to Canada, I recommand to watch Two frogs dans l'Ouest (the original version is bilingual French-English. It's from far my favorite film ever. No budget, but awesome. The landscapes will blow your mind. :)

I love many books, and I know a lot about french literature since I studied it. My favorite book is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and all the ones of Deepak I could put my hands on so far. Siddharta is also a very good one.

My bible is the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali : it gives you tips to learn to control your mind and inspires you to explore the depth of your consciousness. To me, this is the basis of all religion. If you want to know more about it, I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

Music : I love mantra music (Ajeet, Mirabai, etc.). My taste in electronic music are very specific, it needs to have a melody and make me feel like I'm on an adventure/transe : Hungry music (Joachim Pastor, N'to, Worakls) is my favorite. I love Tash Sultana, she inspired me to play guitare again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumping in Whistler. Running marathons. Traveling around the world all by myself. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you French and have interesting discussions about yoga and meditation with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook delicious vegetarian meals and teach French to my hosts. But above all, I can share good times with them and simply make the most of this life together.

We can go for a bike ride or a run to discover Montreal. If you do any yoga, I'd also be happy to practice with you. Which reminds me that I should buy a mat for my hosts in case. :p
