Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
to see, to listen, to taste, to feel and to smell the most I can
ABOUT ME
I'm a 30 y.o. freelance writer working mostly for "Superinteressante", a popular science magazine in Brazil (it's also got a Spanish-language sister called "Muy Interessante").
My interests? I love stories. But my basest attraction is food. Street food, home made food, restaurants, junk food, anything edable, moving or not.
Then comes good music. I used to play classical piano, but now it's just a hobby. I'm also reading addicted, and read anything from unreadable Chinese characters in shampoo lables while having a shower to anglo-indian magical realism.
I also love to make plans to conquer the world - which included planning world capitals when I was 14 yo and creating an ever changing idioglossia. I've stopped with that for the moment and decided to see the world instead of recreating it in my mind.
PHILOSOPHY
Finding long term projects that make life worth living. Doing everyday something special that makes the day worth living. Being open to new experiences so that the moment is worth living.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I'm at home I can host people. When I'm traveling, I couchsurf.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few people in my flat. Also been a guest in Lahore (Pakistan), Tehran (Iran, actually in hospitalityclub), San Francisco, New Delhi, Bangkok, Hanoi, Shanghai, Beijing, Ankara and Yerevan.
----
That's not couchsurfing, but I would count it the same way: in college times I lived in a two bedroom apartment with 5 flatmates (plus me) and a fluctuating number of guests every night. Things worked incredibly well, even when we used to get close to two digits in that tiny apartment. For years I shared a bedroom with a female friend who used to bring her boyfriend to overnight. No problems either (Brazilians can get very flexible when it comes to privacy).

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Things involving sleeping on the street, funeral ceremonies in Indonesia, glacier crossing, playing piano naked on stage, scorpions and lamb testicles, migrant labour in Japan... But as years come by, things quit being amazing and we find deeper feelings about things than maze. So... what's amazing?
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
Well, as time goes by I see sharing time is more than sharing something specific. But the value of such time depends on the level of empathy we can establish with the oder. So... it will depend on us.
Having said that, I not only can cook, but love to do it. I can also teach some Brazilian things, but, seriously, I more interested in things universal than cultural idiosyncrasies.
