About Me

Currently on my gap year, just finished high school, I am planning to go to Uni later this year to study English literature and Spanish. I recently quit my job as a chef, and I am volunteering for Oxfam UK and Glasgow Film Festival.
I am a very chilled out person, I like to take my time and enjoy the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Trying to embrace every opportunity that comes my way, and so I'm packing my year full of travel. Heading to the States, South America and inter-railing in Europe this summer. I think the best way to get to know a new place is through the people who live there, so the chance to make friends with locals is very exciting! A bit of insider knowledge when travelling is always handy too.

Interests

I love to travel! Hoping to get into food and travel writing, I am currently dabbling in music review writing (not sure how well it's going). I am passionate about good food, music, film, fashion and writing. I love a great night out and a dance, but equally chilling with a friend and a pot of tea is ideal.
I am a city girl at heart, I love shopping (sadly) and having everything at my fingertips, but I absolutely adore nature and the countryside too.
I love cooking and baking and tend to express affection through this medium!

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow music is a broad one, I listen to a bit of everything. I am really into ambient dance beats, with some funk and soul mixed in. Hip hop and indie pop are always good, but also I like some punky rock and old classic pop too. Taylor Swift is my weakness. But also my strength.

My favourite movies are the Lord of the Rings. I can't help it they are epic and I am a bit of a secret fan. I loved the film 'Her', by Spike Jonze. Just a perfect film. I am an avid Studio Ghibli watcher. Always open to new genres and indie films too, I'm discovering so much working at the film festival just now! I hate horror movies, my over-active imagination leaves me terrified beyond enjoyment.

I love old classic books, I'm re-reading Jane Eyre for the 6th time just now. Massive Jane Austen fan - I just love escaping into that frivolous world for a while. Favourite authors include: Kazuo Ishiguro, Alexander McCall Smith and Roald Dahl.
