About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To pursue a fulfilling career, to climb rock features in México, to skillfully switch between speaking Spanish, French, and English.

ABOUT ME

Hello! I recently moved to México with my partner, Will. We are enjoying exploring the amazing Mexican country and culture, and look forward to settling in somewhere soon. I am passionate about social justice, learning foreign languages, good food, and great beer :)

PHILOSOPHY

Be free.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love CS as a way to make connections with people and discover more "local life" in foreign cities. Especially when traveling, it's a delight to stay with a couchsurfer and share a moment, a laugh, a meal, a drink, a dance, whatever.

My CS experience thus far has always been superb. I have met and stayed with fantastic couchsurfers in Ottawa, Canada, Cartagena, Colombia, Nîmes, Marseille, France, Antwerpen, Belgium, Granada, Spain, and Budapest, Hungary. One day I'd love to host.

Interests

I like to sing, hike mountains, read, cycle, play the guitar, run, explore, practice my language skills, write poetry, cook and eat delicious meals, watch Queer Eye, hang out in bars, drink good coffee,

Music, Movies, and Books

I love bluegrass music, indie rock, and folk. Some of my favorites are Punch Brothers, Josh Ritter, Avett Brothers, Nickel Creek, and Vienna Teng

My favorite movie is "Le fabuleux déstin d'Amélie Poulin." I love Amélie as a character and I want to be like her. Other favorites are "Say Anything," "A Beautiful Mind," and "Pride & Prejudice."

I love all books and I can't pick a favorite. I loved the Harry Potter series and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I'm currently reading Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I was privileged to do was serve as a health volunteer with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua. Nicaraguans are kind, resilient, generous, and taught me many lessons.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be happy to exchange language skills! I am trying to get better at switching between the languages I already know. It is hard work! I'd love to learn yoga moves, guitar chords, words of wisdom.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer some English practice if you'd like. I also make pretty good stove-cooked popcorn and guacamole. And of course, I'm filled with stories of my own human experience.

Countries I’ve Visited
