About Me

Hi! I'm an American university student studying International Affairs concentrating in International Environmental Studies with a minor in Anthropology. I currently live/study in Washington DC but my family lives near by in Virginia. Growing up, my family moved a lot for my father's career, so I've lived in Virginia, California, Texas, Rhode Island, Germany, and Belgium. Being able to live and travel all over the US and the world growing up is what sparked my interest in traveling and helped me develop the necessary skills and knowledge to travel. Some other things about me: I have three brothers, I love dogs and my dog Abby, and I hate raisins.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanted to join Couchsurfing because I've heard good things from friends I've met while traveling and I wanted to give it a try! Also, one of my favorite parts about traveling is meeting new people, so I figured that couchsurfing would be a great way to meet people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just spent half of my junior year (third year) of university studying Wildlife Conservation and Political Ecology in Tanzania! I got to travel to places like Serengeti and Ngorongoro and got to call it school work! I also spent over 40% of the semester camping and spent three weeks traveling on my own doing a independent study project on sustainable tourism. My semester in Tanzania was one of the coolest things I've done in my life and already can't wait to return to Tanzania again one day!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have some experience teaching English as a second language and I'm currently trying to learn Swahili and French! I would also love to learn about any travel experience others have and share any of my experience with others.
