About Me

A born and raised rural Minnesota woman. I have dedicated much of my life to attending a variety of educational institutions, and when I was not in school I was working in various outdoor, labor intensive-based jobs. I am an enthusiast of nature, nearly all aspects (flora, fauna, fungi, soil). When time is available I enjoy sewing, gardening, cooking, playing cribbage (cards in general) and 'nerding-out' with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The initial purpose for me using CS was for my travels to Ireland, just this year. My friend and I successfully used CS throughout our adventure to meet new, kind, and knowledgable persons who shared their homes with us. These CS opportunities were invaluable to our experience in Ireland- making it so much more of a fulfilling adventure.
My travel companion was the main communicator/requester during our time in Ireland so any reference I have resides on her page.
However, I am hoping to use the CS platform for something a bit different. I start a graduate program at NDSU on April 2, 2018, but can not sign a lease until sometime mid-May. My hope is that through CS I can find a few, kind, eager individuals that are willing to host me sometime throughout this time frame. This will be my first real experience in Fargo (which is about to be my home for the next 2.5 years) and I hope that any individual willing to host me would be eager enough/prepared to show me/ share with me what they love about the Fargo area.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Very dependent on my mood. I thoroughly enjoy the following genres: hip-hop, experimental, folk, bluegrass, jazz, blues, ska, big band, very limited pop, and limited country (only Dolly, Patsy, or Hank Williams III).

Movies: Very dependent on mood as well. I do not enjoy overly suspenseful movies or shows. If I am uncomfortable watching a movie you will know because I will be that annoying person that asks too many questions.

Books: I don't read enough. I am trying to work on that. Most of my books are reference books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm still alive, and nearly 30. I'd say that is very impressive.

Teach, Learn, Share

It is incredibly cliche to say and I know it, but I'd consider myself a life-long learner. When meeting a new person I hope to learn as much as they are willing to share. I love to hear and share stories about adventuring. Going on hikes/walks is one of my favorite things to do, and during that time I'd love to share my knowledge of the plant community. Cooking is one of my favorite activities, and sharing the preparation of a delicious meal with someone is something I truly enjoy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm incredibly appreciative, well-mannered, and independent. I'll never ask more of a host than what they can offer, and I will be sure to tend to myself and my traveling companion. I enjoy cooking, and understand with that comes cleaning.
