Hi!

My name is Maureen, I am a 26 year old solo female traveler from Canada. This year, I am traveling around the world making my way from Asia to Europe, mostly working with locals from various Workaway posts. I have already been traveling for about 8 months. Currently I'm in India!

I strive to explore this world in a way that is responsible, ethical and beneficial to others, and love to engage with different cultures and ways of life. With an appreciation for slow travel, I have spent the past 4 and a half years backpacking solo through 34 different countries (with a few months here and there in my home country to work and replenish my funds!).

I am outgoing and friendly, and I enjoy people of all shapes, sizes, colours, and backgrounds! I am passionate about world cultures, craft, history, anthropology, music, film, art, human rights, gender equality, and the environment. I LOVE animals, and have a special place in my heart for all living creatures.

I’m very independent and happy to explore solo, so there is no worry about needing to take care of me during my stay (of course, advice/company is always welcome!). I don't mind being left to entertain myself, especially if it gives me time to work on my illustrations (watercolour and ink), plan new adventures, journal, or edit my photos :)
