About Me

🚨 DISCLAIMER - please read before requesting 🚨
❤️ Please personalize your request 🙏🏻 Copy&paste messages will be declined 😬 If you want to crash a couch, please have the courtesy and make that mini effort.
✅ Please be verified. It takes 10 minutes and is the only thing that gives hosts some sense of security
1️⃣ Please only one person at a time
2️⃣ Two nights max.

There's a surprisingly massive amount of requests coming in every week, so please understand that I can only focus on requests matching these criteria.

I am kinda busy in general and don't spend much time at home. It would be lovely to hang out, of course, but I can't promise to be able to. Also I can't be your tour guide, entertainer or sight recommender. However, if plans fit and we get along well, I take you along with me and you'll see some non-touristy stuff.

Big plus if you’re into filmmaking. Please mention that 🤗

-----------------------------

I work as a social media guy. It's okay and it helps me to support my true mission: make movies and build an international filmmaking community. On the side, I'm working on my international photography business: www.instagram.com/MauriceEtoile

These days I try to focus on my filmmaking progress and my (physical and mental) health: I do sports (freeletics most), don't drink anymore, never used drugs, try to eat more on the healthy side, no sugar. I'm not a party animal anymore, so if you're in Berlin focussed on the night life (which is great), I am not the best person to go for 😬

This is from my past me:
2016 was quite disrupting. After I've been an IT project manager for three years, I've decided to leave the office (monkey cage) for good and start my own carreer as a photographer. An amazing 4-month-break in South America showed me how important it is to travel and leave your comfort zone. So many awesome people from all over the globe confirmed my decision to break free. This hasn't changed yet – let's see what'll come next.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I try to make it to the gatherings, meet people for drinks, show them around, introduce them to my friends and give my couch to stay. The best idea is meeting up at the weekend.

I hosted at home and in Hong Kong. We became instant-friends. I've surfed in different countries in Europe and South America. It's simply the best way to experience foreign places.

Interests

I used to have many interests but now I focus most of my energy to improve my skills in filmmaking:
- writing
- directing
- producing
- camera operating
- lighting

  • cooking
  • movies
  • filmmaking

Music, Movies, and Books

Massively depending on my mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mainland China: We went for dinner - in China that is Kampeing (finishing a drink in one go) the whole night - the other day and went to a succeeding massage. That massage was meant to turn into one of 'those massages' - if you know what I mean 😜I couldnt bail out without losing face in front of my colleagues, so I was in the room with the hooker and tried to explain, that we wont have sex but rather watch TV until the 2 hours were over. Of course she didnt speak a single word of English. I had to draw and act it out (👉🏻👌🏻🙅🏻‍♂️‼️), until she understood, although she couldnt believe or get it at all, I guess. However, I ended up watching Tom&Jerry with this Chinese prostitute for two hours. What a strange experience! Of course I told my colleague I banged her big time and three times in a row. He was really impressed and told me to take on two girls next time 🤦🏻‍♂️My plan for the next time is getting so drunk at the dinner and pass out, so they won't even think of taking me to the 'massage' place again 😅

Teach, Learn, Share

Filmmaking: Let's talk about making movies
Cooking: My mum taught me the best dishes, maybe I can pass some on :)
Photography: I've been a photographer since 2000 and would love to help you improve your images. Let's go on a tour and shoot some images together.
Enjoy life: Hang out with me and you'll appreciate the little things in life even more and your friends will love you more, too :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a photographer I can help you to take better photos. Also of course, I can take some photos of you and your friends 😌 I love cooking. We could cook together and learn from each other.
And of course we can exchange travel experiences we made so far ✌🏻
