About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life at the moment consists of travelling and working around the world, I'm always looking for opportunities to further my knowledge and getting involved into interesting and sustainable projects. Right now I'm in America and unlike other previous trips to Asia and Australia/New Zealand I have no return date, so I'm not in a rush and therefore I would like to spend more time in one place to get the most out of it. I'm excited to get to know a culture and a country on a deeper level than just doing the tourist things. I love meeting new people and to get to know their stories.

ABOUT ME

I like to do adventurous activities as swimming, diving, trekking, climbing in my free time.... let's say anything that gets the heart beating! On the other side I'm a spiritual soul who is interested in everything that entertains my mind, I practice meditation on a regular basis and do yoga when it fits into my schedule. I am also a certified diver (adv. open water) and wish to get more experience during my trip.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy your life - don`t waste time, life is too short.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling around the world... its nice to see beautiful places, but what makes a journey really special for me are the people I meet on the way... their is nothing more enriching than to learn about their points of view, culture, food, favorite music and movies... to share hopes and dreams and have a good time...:)

Music, Movies, and Books

I´m interested in all kinds of movies (e.g. thriller, drama, action, comedy, fantasy) and a huge range of music - rock, folk rock, raggae and whatever I feel like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Banana Pancake Trail in South East Asia: Food poisoning in Thailand, motorbike accident and got drunk in Vietnam, eat chicken feets and insects in Laos, feeling sorrowful about the genocide in Cambodia, see orangutan´s, huge turtles and sharks in Borneo (Malaysia), travel from the western end (Sumatra) to the eastern end (Papua) of Indonesia and trek around the interior of Papua on my own for a week
- see more dead kangaroo's than alive ones in the outback of Australia and having an incredible time while driving down the east coast in our own car
- having hard times on fu**** up "roads" with several breakdowns on our motorbike trip through one of the newest countries in the world - East Timor
- visit almost all "Lord of the Ring"-film locations in New Zealand (even climed up Mount Doom)
- arguing with deceitful Indian food sellers and tuk-tuk drivers who permanently tried to scam me
- run into the Tibetan Dalai Lama in his exile in the Indian Himalayas
- trek the Annapurna circuit non-stop for 2 weeks and rafting down the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal
- meet the friendliest people on earth and at the same time be in fear of my own life in Bangladesh
- explore sunken ship wrecks and see huge turtles, manta rays and sharks while diving in Indonesia
- meet some sweet Philipinos, get drunk and sing karaoke all night long
- climb around Maya ruins and experience spiritual cacao ceremonies in Mexico/ Guatemala
- volunteered almost 2 months in the Guatemalan jungle far away from civilization in an eco lodge
- drive around coffee plantations in the highlands of Honduras and spend time in some of the "most dangerous" cities in the world
- smoke ganja and drink rum all day long on a small Caribbean island in Belize
- road trip around Western USA from the beaches of California through the "no-man's" land of Nevada and canyonlands of Utah to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to improve my Spanish!
Besides that I like to learn new activities as playing music instruments (ukulele, guitar), drawing or what else you are particular interested in or good at.
