Overview
About Me
Hello everyone!
I am Mauro, a 37-year-old Argentine travelling around the world for 2020 (the least). I've already been to Colombia many times (have life-long friends there), Mexico, many places in Latin America, USA, Spain and other European cities. Heading for Middle East, India, and South-East Asia later on this year.
I'm an English translator and have also worked as a model and costume designer assistant.
Music, literature, movies and art-in-general lover.
Also into animals, exercising, snorkelling, dancing (dance floor activator and carnival chaser: been to Bolivia's, and Colombia's more than once).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To get into the local culture and meet people everywhere I go, share experiences, walk around, taste regional food, go dancing, have some drinks. Now, how do I start meeting friends and getting reviews? I guess I could use some help and good will there.

Music, Movies, and Books
Difficult task to mention some, but here I go:
BOOKS: Virginia Woolf, Freedom at Midnight (on the independence of India), Poe, EE Cummings, Jorge Luis Borges, Cortázar, César Vallejo, Tanizaki, Kawabata, Patti smith, Yourcenar, Hesse, comics (Neil Gaiman!)
MOVIES: The classics (Coppola, Kubrick, Tarantino, Lynch, etc) + Hero, by Zhang Yimou; Children of Men, by Alfonso Cuarón + Anime!: Hayao Miyazaki, Satoshi Kon.
MUSIC: Every-thing: salsa, cumbia, sould, tango, pop, rock (SOAD!), techno (Aphex Twin!), hip hop, ambient, chill out, alternative, indie and indian, jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, if you ever get back to life, hug me and tell me "sweetie pie" in the ear), classical (Martha Argerich, Prokofiev, Mozart, Scriabin, Bartok, etc).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Successfully babysat my 2-year-old nephew and my 3-month-old niece together for more than two hours (believe me that's a challenge). Now, really: I've had shamanic experiences in Bolivia, talked to God (or some God) and everything.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know English and Italian, some music, some yoga. I know good books to read and bands to listen. I would gladly share that.
And I'll learn what you are you willing to share. I don't want more than what you want to give.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Nice talks over wine (or not), respect, empathy, cooking, watching movies, walking around...
