About Me

I'm a doctor who's very fond of travelling and getting in touch with other cultures: during my university years I spent some months in foreign hospitals (Zambia and Japan, so different but precious experiences), and I'd been in Bosnia and Poland for small helping-people projects. I suppose to be a very lucky man: everytime I got from others much more than I could give them.

PHILOSOPHY

"Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto" (i.e. "I am a human being, I consider nothing that is human alien to me.")

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to increase my knowledge of world and people who live in. For example, in previous years several friends I knew in Japan came to visit me, and I lead them around Northern Italy for sightseeing tours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'd been hosted by some old friends during their studies abroad; I also lead my foreign friends for sightseeing tours during their visits to Italy. About CS: you can read references, I didn't pay anybody for good comments ;-)

Interests

- I follow as educator a group of teenagers in my parish (assisting them in their growing-up troubles and promoting with them some charity initiatives)
- cinematography

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm an omnivorous animal: you can find on my bookcase both unconventional writers like Chuck Palahniuk and masters like Dostoevskij. The same for cinema: I admire Kieslowski, Bergman, Wes Anderson... but I take great fun watching B-movies with friends ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I attended high school, I met Patch Adams and I joined a group a volunteers that used clownerie to confort hospitalized children. As I’ve already written above, I got from others much more than I could give them

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I were rich, I would be a tourist guide for free :-) I really like sightseeing and sharing my passion for art, history and different cultures with people
