Hey everyone!

I am a 21 years old student from Sheffield. I have moved to the UK some 10 years ago from Ukraine, originally from Dnepropetrovsk (if anyone knows where that is). When I was young I also lived in Libya for a few years. Experiencing such a different culture to my own, at a young age gave me a new perspective on life and a piece of mind.

I prefer travelling in twos, makes trips more fun and enriches the whole experience. However I have never let that get in the way of meeting new people - travelers and locals alike. I am open minded and sociable, cant say that Ive ever had a problem talking to people. My friends say im a bit weird

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I believe couchsurfing has a pool of some most interesting, open-minded and friendly people you could ever meet, after all not everyone will be open to hosting a stranger in their house. Getting a bit of an insight into how other people live is interesting to me, perhaps there are things I can learn from and implement into my own life.

Also I like exploring places with some local awareness, visit the some of the local gems that are hidden away and are not on the tourist guide. I'm a people kind of person so I wouldnt mind meeting for a quick chat.

If you are ever in the UK, passing through Sheffield or want to visit the Peak District (national park near me) I'll be happy to accommodate you in a friendly student house :)

My passion is keeping fit and I try to do so by cycling, swimming and playing sports. In particular, I enjoy playing basketball (mainly because of my height advantage but also because of Im terrible at football).

I love my bike and cycle pretty much anywhere and everywhere. In the future id love to go bikepacking through eastern bloc countries, so if any of you guys out there have any experience, I'd love to chat about it so please shoot me a message.

Where do I begin, I think I 'm one of those people who likes a bit of everything as my music taste is varied, I dont just listen to one particular genre of music - it can go from cheesy pop to electronic music to jazz/soul to hiphop and everything in between. Probably it all depends on the mood I am in but typically I can enjoy most music.

The best book I've ever read is Animal Farm by George Orwell as it introduces a fairly simple concept yet provokes an interesting debate. Also I love the Dan Brown series of Da Vinci Code, easy reads and you can never put it down after you start reading it.

One of the best films I have ever watched has to Chef by Jon Favereau - it's a happy film about a dedicated hardworking chef, who ditches the restaurant work and does something he really loves and has fun while doing it. Other films I really enjoy are the comic book remakes such as Marvel Universe, seems I chat about it endlessly.

Favorite series include Peaky Blinders, Lie to Me, Two and Half Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Vikings, Black Mirror, Stranger Things and many more.

I have scaled mount Snowden in Wales, through one of the hardest routes in a pair of sneakers without twisting my ankle.

Still to come Summer 2018 - Skydive in Spain, trying to beat the fear of heights by not taking baby steps.

People say I am great at telling stories and I must say it is my pleasure to tell a good story that people enjoy and entertained by. However, I'd love to hear your travel experiences also and how you came about using Couchsurfing and the people you've met.

If you agree to accommodate me, I will be happy to spend time with you if you have any free time, chat about life over a cup of coffee or a drink, go party (coming from UK this is something I'm quite familiar with so can promise decent company). Also as I quite enjoy cooking, I wouldn't mind cooking some traditional Ukrainian food and perhaps teach you some Russian :).
