About Me
NOTE: I CANNOT ACCEPT COUCHSURFERS AFTER JULY 9
I work in music; as cliche as this is, music is truly my obsession. I barely watch TV and haven’t gotten into podcasts at all because I’m constantly listening to and reading and writing about music. I also enjoy cooking, but my version of cooking is truly questionable compared to some of the more patient, flavorful chefs I’ve met. I’ve recently perfected oven-baked tofu and homemade hummus. Also i’ll obsess over your pets
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting people and seeing new places. It’s that simple. When you’re temporarily living in someone’s home, it’s far easier to form a deep, genuine bond quickly than it is in most other situations. One of my favorite things to do is simply be in the presence of my friends, even if we’re doing nothing at all; I constantly chase that joy. Couchsurfing is a quick path towards that sort of zen, and if it means i get to visit another city and explore its culture, then that’s just an added benefit.
Interests
Music, writing, reading, cooking (especially vegan), traveling, talking with people about the world at large and their own lived experiences, dogs and cats and all pets but mostly dogs and cats, solving our many overarching social problems, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
Although I'm passionate about music, I recently read something along the lines of "try to judge people based not on what they like, but what they ARE like." This is something I've struggled to do for a while—as in, not getting to know someone who I might really like since our music tastes don't align—so to help myself get better at this, I'm trying not to define myself with just a list of my favorite media. But I'd obviously love to chat about it in person. That’s more of an inevitability than anything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Mexico when I was younger (as in, young enough that my parents still paid for everything) and visited old Mayan ruins. I swam in a natural lagoon that was a hundred or so feet underground, with vines growing alongside the sides. It was pretty beautiful.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learn and share. Teach me how to make my new favorite meal I’ve never heard of. Share your favorite local park, restaurant, or museum. I’ll do the same.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I currently live in Brooklyn. I was born in Manhattan, and I was raised nearby in New Jersey. I spend tons of time in Philly. So in addition to the obvious expectation—a comfortable place to stay—I can offer a longtime local’s context to not just New York City, but to its underexplored New Jersey surroundings. I can offer a thorough understanding of the transit systems and how to get around. I can suggest an incredibly cheap and quick route down to Philly and tell you where the non-tourists go (and where the tourists do too).
Countries I’ve Visited
Bahamas, Canada, Cayman Islands, Iceland, Israel, Mexico, United States
