Hi :) My name is Max, I am 18 years old and couldn't be more happy to have the opportunity to spend a gap year in Puebla, Mexico, working in an orphanage.
I am a half Hungarian, half German, and grew up in Ingolstadt, a town close to Munich in Germany. After graduating from school, I went to Puebla, Mexico where I will stay until next summer 2016. I don't know yet to which place life will take me after this year, but I am open to everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My biggest passion have always been foreign languages and cultures, at school I was absolutely into learning about the beautiful different parts in the world. Since I am in Mexico, I realised that it is not primarily the distance to my home country or the different landscape, flora, fauna, climate etc why travelling is so important to me, but that is the contact with the people and making new friends. That is why Couchsurfing is the perfect opportunity for me to travel around the world: my goal is to get to know new countries and cultures through the people that live there; I want to have good conversations, I want to have fun, I want to broaden my horizons and make experiences in a foreign country in the most authentic way possible.

Interests

My interests are foreign languages, but especially the personal chat with foreign people. My absolutely biggest passion is acting, I love performing. If you are interested in talking about theatre or cinema, also about music or litterature, you will always find an enthusiastic conversation partner in me.
I like sports, notably those which combine physical exercise and action, like surfing, climbing, skiing etc. Also, I am open to try new things, no matter if sports, other activities, food etc is concerned ...
Food, by the way, another passion of mine: I love experiencing new and foreign tastes and am eager to try everything ... I can't say I don't like something if I haven't tried it yet ... :P
All in all, I have many many interests, I only listed the most important ones ... And as I have already said: I am willing to try everything (almost everything - of course there are limits) and open to widen my list of interests.

Oh, a topic I could talk all night long - and even longer ...
In general, I can say I love special and extraordinary things that hit my taste ... My favourite director at the time is Xavier Dolan from Québec. In fact, I can say my repertoire of cinema, theatre, music, literature. other forms of art is not limited to pop culture - though I don't want to say that pop culture is rubbish ... My interests in this domain are wide and I am really curious that you'll present new things to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm, I need to confess I don't like this category, I just can't reduce all the amazing things I have done and that other people have done for me and that I have experienced to one single event ... The one thing that first comes to my mind is my voluntary service helping little children in the orphanage - though I would never say it is an amazing thing I do, it's rather an amazing experience.
