About Me

I'm Max, 24, I study teaching German and English in Mainz, Germany. I'm currently living in Leeds, England, where I spend a semsester abroad with the Erasmus programme.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why not? Besides being an opportunity to save some money, which is obviously very helpful when travelling, couchsurfing is a great way to make new friends. I prefer spending time with locals as it's the best way to experience a new city. I've met wonderful people on couchsurfing and had some really good times with them. The people who hosted me always contributed greatly to my travels. I love how you instantly have someone to hang out with and get advice from and on the other hand I enjoy helping people visiting my hometown, too. Even though I haven't been able to host myself yet due to my living situation, a friend of mine regularly does and I'm always keen to get to know these people myself. In fact, parttaking in couchsurfing resulted in some lasting friendships, which I'm very happy about. Because after all, the people you meet are what lasts when you're travelling.

Interests

I'm really passionate about food and tasting cusines from all over the world. As I don't have the money to eat out very often, I decided to lern to cook myself. I became quite good at it and I'm always happy to share that during my stays. Apart from that, I love music and going to concerts. When I'm in a new city I like to just stroll around and explore. One of my favourite things is going outside, hiking, camping...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While traveling Australia for 11 months is spend 2 weeks on an old used bicycle driving up the east coast of Tasmania, 522 km from Hobart to Launceston. Just me, my bike, some clothes an supplies, a sleeping bag and a tent. Happy days!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm more than happy to take over cooking, if you're not too keen on it yourself. Otherwise, I enjoy preparing meals together and learn from each other.
