About Me
Hello!! Nice to meet you :)
I'm Max and here's a confession: I've had my whole life planned out, spanning from tomorrow until the day I die. These plans gave me a sense of safety - or so I thought. But it was an illusion, there is no safe future and the plans weren't making me happy either. The first time I've felt passion for my future was thinking about doing Couchsurfing, meeting humans from all over the world and living in the moment, as harsh as it can be and in the real world instead of my head. I'm deeply grateful for these opportunities existing in the modern world.
I have experience in tutoring mathematics, English, Japanese and other school subjects. I can help you learn.
Deeply interested in psychology, philosophy, religion and the mind. Let's talk about that if you want or play fucking chess or whatever lmao

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The duty of any person is to become fully themselves. It is a horrifying thing, which is why so few people do it. At some point I found there is a voice inside of me where, everytime I listen, everything gets better and I get closer to being me. Now this voice, call it fate, wants me to meet people around the world and learn about other cultures. I'm very inexperienced at most of the things that this journey will ask of me and I'm kinda scared, too, but I'm willing to manage and it will be ok.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Japanese music of all sorts, but also Folk, Electronic, Acoustic, Indie and 'ze' Oldies of course.
My favourite movies are Matrix, Nausicaä, Grand Budapest Hotel. I love Avatar the Last Airbender.
I like a lot of books, we can trade some. As per my favourite ones, it would be Mihály Csíkszentmihályi - Flow, Hermann Hesse - Demian, Bessel van der Kolk - The Body Keeps the Score.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been to Japan for an exchange year. That has been one of the greatest times of my life. Of course there have been problems, too, but peering beyond the known bubble of your hometown, one can easily see how open, friendly, generous and basically good people are all over the world. I felt right at home and the associations to Japan have a special place in my heart. I have been given a second home and more importantly a second family there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you little bits and pieces of Japanese, English and German! If it's for the younger kiddos, I can do school tutoring for most school subjects, too.
I'm willing to share basically everything I'm taking with me; my thoughts, emotions, ears, my compassion and if you want, some of the worthless stuff in my bag.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can help you cook and show you some of Germany's, Japan's and Russia's native cuisine. I know quite a bit about these cultures, especially Germany and Japan, so I can tell you about them, teach you some phrases or games.
