Hey there!

My name is Max and I'm a 27 year old from Ottawa Ontario, currently living in Banff. I'm very sociable person who is easy to get along with. I consider myself to be a neat and courteous person and someone who I would like to share my home with. Occasionally goofy, not very clumsy.

For the past 3 winters I've worked driving snowcat and building terrainparks, so after this season I am heading to Sanfrancisco for 5 days to kick off the summer. A big reason for the trip is to visit some graphic artists I look up to, and to attend a design conference. Last year I started my own graphic design company and have worked hard to develop my client list and my portfolio, and I consider this trip to be career development.

Some of my other interests are live music, architecture, design, surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding.. the list goes on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel somewhere new, in my time on visiting I want to get a true feel for the area. I know what it's like to have people come and explore the place where I'm from, and what you take away from that trip versus a generic travel package is night and day. Thats why I'm on CS is to meet interesting people and try and get a small taste of Sanfrancisco from an inside perspective. I am a self sufficient guy and don't need a tour guide but certainly wouldn't mind going for a beer or good coffee with my host. Travelling with this mindset is far different and opens way more doors to unique experiences that you might not otherwise get if you stick to the generic tourist route.

Music wise I'm im pretty into indy alternative pop stuff like: Future Islands, DIIV, campdogzz, Arctic monkeys, Lord Huron, Shakey Graves (seeing Shakey Graves at August Hall), Hop Along, but as generic as it sounds I listen to everything haha. As a cat driver I have 8 hours a night to listen to everything on spotify.
