About Me

For the past 3 years I've been yearning for Europe. I finally decided to quit my job, end my lease, put my life in a pack and go. I left Australia on December 14, 2014. My life is very spontaneous. I often find strict plans to be constricting and I keep my options open, believing that one thing should lead to the next. With this mantra I have shared many amazing experiences and kept true to what I really want in the present. I am trying to find true freedom of choice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to share the unique experience of the road with like-minded individuals (people who value experience over material, connection over isolation)

Music, Movies, and Books

I will listen to anything, my preferences are hip-hop, blues, trip pop, reggae, chill house, classic rock. Whatever it is it must suit the needs of the situation.
There are too many to list:
Immortal Technique, MF Doom, Madlib, The Roots, Blackalicious, John Lee Hooker, Seasick Steve, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Bonobo, Hooverphonic, Led Zeppelin, Jannis Joplin, Black Sabbath, Rush.

I always have a book on the go and always gift/swap after reading. From what I like to call 'modern munchables' (easily digestible fiction) to the classic and ridiculous words of James Joyce.

I like films that make me think, are beautiful and well thought out (there are too many to list). My favourite director since the age of 13 has been Stanley Kubrick.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is a secluded stream in Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory, Australia. Next to the stream is a little known hole, naturally bore in the rocky embankment. The hole is perfectly formed with a 5' drop into still, dark water.
With instruction, I jumped into the hole and beneath the surface of the water, a bright light shone. I swam into the light and emerged from the hole on the other side, in the stream, rejuvenated.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be happy to help with English speaking/writing. I can also share and teach you how to make a mean cocktail, a cold-curing chicken soup, how to juggle, travel on a shoestring, and write and read poetry.

I'd love to learn more than my high school French, how to get work in a country where you don't speak the language, how to identify edible plants,

What I Can Share with Hosts

A host is sharing their home, I am sharing myself.
