About Me
I am a Christian, but not the kind who tries to make you eat a bible. i love rock climbing and probably have spent a legitimate 30% of my time doing or training for it over the last 10 years.
I love to make new friends, and can't stand to have enemies. I'm really easy to get along with, but not very good at talking about sports or politics, even though I lived in DC for a while.
I used to skateboard a lot and still have two boards, though I'm not good at skating. I can ski, have tried snowboarding and loved it, know kung fu and don't work for the government.
I like playing Dungeons and Dragons because it is so fun! I also have lots of video games and try to play them every once in a while when I'm not working, climbing, stuffing my face, or sleeping.
My place is in Kanazawa City, a good 30 minute walk from the train station. I have a car though, so if you don't feel like a walk just let me know.
I like to write and sometimes get carried away with fluffy and verbose English.
I can cook really tasty rice!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
New people bring enough adventure into a life to surrogate travelling. The art of being a host naturally brings out a fresh side of a person given to it wholeheartedly. Freshness and newness breathe life into an elsewise stale and monotonous existence.
On the other side of the coin, travel remains unmatched in my eyes as door inward as well as outward. A person goes on undiscovered until they step into an unknown place and allow growth to happen. There is no substitute for travel in developing a well-rounded and open mind. Unbearably too often a man or woman will cement a view of the world from only one point, like laying their head against a Monet painting and looking at it with one eye while claiming to appreciate its full beauty.
tl;dr I love to have people stay with me. Also I love to travel and learn stuff. And couchsurfing is cheap!
