In the Summer of 2014, I got the crazy idea to make a list of all the things I was passionate about and wanted from life. A serious career, a nice house, and children were not on that list. For some reason that’s all it took to change the way I’d been living my life for 25 years.

I saved until the end of the semester and put a downpayment on an SUV, quit college for the third time and bought a GoPro. On January 31st, I started a facebook page to organize my plans and meet other people interested in a life of adventure.

I’ve biked, hiked, camped, cliff jumped, canyoneered, spelunked, bungee jumped, skydived, seen countless beautiful sights and met amazing people – and this is only the beginning.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I want to start making trips that are further away while maintaining the frequency of my regular adventures. I'm planning a trip to Alaska in October and I think couchsurfing would be a great way to meet local people and learn a little about each area on my drive there and back.

I the Mighty, Pvris, and Hands Like Houses are probably my favorite bands, but I listen to a lot of post-hardcore, pop punk, indie, classical and EDM. The only think I don't like is country.

The Goonies, The Fifth Element, V for Vendetta, The Man from Nowhere, and a lot of others. In general, I love action, sci-fi, comedy, and movies that make you think.

Just read The Martian. Amazing... I'm also writing a high fantasy novel that takes up most of my other reading time.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One of my favorite adventures was my second trip to the Angeles National Forest this year. We drove out, hiked around and camped that night, then hiked the 5 miles to the Bridge to Nowhere with the rest of the bungee jumpers and leapt from a bridge! The whole trip was beautiful and amazing. I can't wait to do it a third time!

I love adventure - and not just for the photos and videos, albeit, I do enjoy sharing what I do. I'm a totally normal guy on the surface. I work two jobs and pay student loans and other bills, but twice a week I go on mini adventures, with bigger trips here and there. I bike as much as I can and work hard to keep momentum in my passions. I'm a totally open book and will answer honestly - even when I probably shouldn't.
