ABOUT ME

May writes for the youth section of The Star, a Malaysian national daily newspaper. She likes random conversations and might ask too many question(occupational hazard, sorry!). She also likes exploring new places and getting lost in old bookstores.

Feel free to exchange a random book with May.

Max works for a big corporation and has "joie de vivre" tattooed to his nape to keep him sane. He likes to travel alone but loves meeting new people wherever he goes. Max dares you to throw him a challenging dare.

PHILOSOPHY

May's philosophy is, cheesy as it sounds, YOLO. You only live once, so carpe that diem!

Max lives by Leonardo Da Vinci's quote, "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication".

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Besides sharing all things Malaysian to the world, any couchsurfer visiting Malaysia can get the combined advice of Max and May.

Max currently lives on Penang island and would be happy to show any couchsurfer around.

May lives in a suburb near Kuala Lumpur, and would also be happy to introduce couchsurfers to the vibrant capital of Malaysia!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Max has couchsurfed across the USA.

May has not surfed any couches but would like to break out of her comfort bubble.

Interesses

Malaysians love food, but Malaysians have weird names for food including (when translated), fat rice, pork bone tea and pole rice. It's fairly obvious Max and May have a shared passion for food.

When May is not busy being a pig with Max, she reads - a lot. May also enjoys writing in her free time, people-watching, and shopping til she drops.

Max is a simple man, he likes running in circles and watching testosterone-fueled movies. May would much rather lie in a hammock with coffee and a fluffy romance novel.

Though both can be frequently seen lurking in music bars around town.
