Overview
About Me
I am a researcher in the field of computational economics. I first discovered Couchsurfing in 2011, when I was in Australia and Asia for a year. After finishing my bachelor's degree, I also traveled through Canada and the US for a year. With more experience and luck I met one of my most amazing hosts in St. John, Newfoundland. This stay was quite a revelation to me. Since then I've been able to meet so many wonderful hosts and I have to say: I met the most amazing and kind people through this way of travel.
I would describe myself as an outgoing and relaxed person and I love to travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best way to discover places is by getting in touch with locals. That's why I like the concept of couchsurfing: You get to travel on a low budget and experience cities from a totally different perspective. I also love chatting with people from all over the world.
Interests
I am a very outgoing person and love to spend time with other people. I love to chat about anything in life, but really love to discuss politics. I am a very curious person and lucky to be able to make my interest of researching new ideas on how to make our society more just and sustainable my profession. I also love to do sports with other people.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music depends on the occasion, I listen to it. Going out to a pub, I enjoy almost any kind of live music. Hanging out at home I listen to artists like Mumford and Sons, Coldplay, or Nick Mulvey and from Germany Seeed, Giant Rooks or AnnenMayKantereit. Living in Berlin taught me how to enjoy partying and dancing with Technon music.
For movies it is of course boring to say Star Wars, but I can watch almost anything from this universe over and over again.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Learned scuba diving
-Went into the jungle with a monkey researcher
-Mustered sheep on a remote farm for several month
-Hiked to the bus of "Into the Wild"
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a very proficient programmer and can teach people how to code Python. But of course that is not the skill you will probably enjoy from your couchsurfer. I also do have some good recipes for traditional German dishes, so I can share how to make these and also cook some for you.
