ABOUT ME

i've been living in hamburg for almost four years now. i graduated from university with a bachelors degree in american studies and sociology and i am currently studying psychology. besides i am always working some random jobs and i also do some writing as a freelance journalist wih a focus on popular culture. i guess that interests me the most then: sociology, psychology and the arts. i can be quite busy from time to time but as soon as i have some time off, i go to the movies, hang out with friends, see some concerts and go out dancing (hell yeah!). i am vegan and i love to cook and good food in general. in my holidays i try to travel for as long and as far away as a can - you learn more on the road than in any textbook!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i was traveling through the united states in 2010 and during these two months i couchsurfed all the time. after returning to hamburg i hosted a few people.

Music, Movies, and Books

tough question!i grew up being a punk/hardcore kid. just picture bands as black flag, ritual or hüsker dü. from time to time i still go to these kind of shows (maybe for nostalgic reasons). i also like elctronic music, bu also jazz and classical music. all time favorites are: patti smith, efterklang, cardigans, bikini kill, the lemonheads, the church, steppenwolf, the cure, bright eyes.
i enjoy american literature - classical and non-classical, fiction and non-fiction. but when i find some time i basically read everything that falls into my hands.
and i dig movies a lot. my favorites are: enter the void, broken, shutter island (i wrote my bachelor thesis on this one), stand by me, my own privat idaho, mysterious skin and many, many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

went scuba diving and saw a massive turtle. rode on a motorbike at night over the harbour bridge in sydney. got lost in the rainforest after sunset. met beautiful people that changed my life. saw the sun rising over the ocean while sitting on a surfboard. saw impressive rituals in india. there are more stories to tell...

there is much to learn.
i can teach you some german of course and maybe tell you stories about the writing buisness. i think i can dance, so if you're planning to go out we can maybe have a dance off!
