Hey guys, this is Maxie from China, and my Chinese name is 海岩 Hai Yan.

I'm 24, I'm currently moving out of China to Southeast Asia for living, and will apply a school in Netherlands for study abroad next year.

I have became a backpacker since 2016, I surfed and also hosted cool people on couchsurfing. so far I've been to 9 foreign countries and regions alone, the number is still rising for sure.

I'm a marketing freelancer, and I started to learn music since 2021. I found that music has been my biggest passion, and a very resonantly way of expression. Also I spent years on focusing gender/feminism/LGBTQ/sex education issues and social topics. For my own gender and sexual orientation, I'm a queer, gay and pansexual male. Phycology, philosophy and political/cultural differences are my interests as well, the world is a dance floor for us.

And ultimately, Love is our final defiance.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I started to travel alone when I was 17, and in my 18 I went to Mongolia as the first time that I traveled overseas. from that time I've met some nice friends on the road, so I've becoming obsessed with traveling.

In early 2017, I finished visiting 4 countries, and very first time surfed on CS in Malaysia, I've met a lot amazing people. Had the greatest experience in my life so far.

Meeting nice people is something I'm always looking forward to.
