Hello, I'm Daniela, 25 years old, from Moldova, studying English culture in France. If I can't become an English teacher, I am willing to become a professional sloth. It's been 6 years since I've been living in this country, moving from one place to another. I have also been living for one year in USA. My native tongue is Romanian but I am also fluent in French, in English and my Russian is pretty decent.

Hey, I'm Maxime, 25 years old French guy. After 4 lively years, studying and traveling from one country to another (Belgium, Australia, South America), I'm back in France. Although I have just graduated in international Logistics, my goal is now to open a wine bar with my best friend. I speak French and English fluently and I get by in Spanish.

We both lived in Lyon these two last years, and decided to move to the lovely city of Avignon this year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are currently welcoming guests from everywhere on our couch, floor, bathtub and any other horizontal surface. It is a way for us to carry on our journey around the world. Since this year we're both unable to travel because of our studies, getting to know people from different places gives us a bit of insight on new cultures and all that without leaving the house!

Interests

We love exchanging with new and different people, so we love everything that goes with a good conversation - good food, beer, wine and good music. We're always down with board and card games, even a bit of pétanque if the weather allows it. Farmers' markets, concerts, shows, open airs, count us in! And to conclude, during summer time when Daniela is available on weekend, we love trekking in the mountains around.

Music, Movies, and Books

We watch waaaaay too many movies that fall into all categories, however Max is more into historical movies and documentaries while Daniela really likes horror movies. We mutually agree that whatever is made by Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese or Wes Anderson is pretty great.

We listen to pretty much everything, from movie soundtracks to indie, rock, alternative tunes.

If you're tired of your old books we would love to exchange, we have a lot of classics in French but several interesting readings in English, so you have a lot to pick from.

Cooking is one of Maxime's biggest passions, he would be glad to introduce you to the typical French cuisine, but as any food lover and very curious person, he would love to taste and learn more about your national dishes.

Wine is obviously another Max's passion. If you are curious about this holy beverage, he will be happy to tell you anything he knows about it and teach you the basics of wine tasting.

If we are not too busy, we might show you the wonders of Avignon. Otherwise, you can count on us if you need any tips or information about the city.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Bed, food, water, cat, beer, laughs.

We both have bikes that we can lend you if you prefer touring around on two wheels, but we would not really advise it since the city is rather small and not really "bike-friendly". Might be useful though if you want to go to "île de la Barthelasse", the biggest French river island that we really recommend to visit.

We will be sharing our embarrassment of a cat, she's a bit loopy around 3-4 AM, but otherwise, the sweetest little thing!
