About Me

Hi everyone!!!

I'm Maxime, 22! I come from the north part of Paris suburbs where I live with my family. I study cross-cultural Communications in Paris and have been able to do more research based work these past two years. I have been interested in subjects related to internet culture, entertainment and popular culture. These days, I would be more interested in reading/working on Photography and Cinema.

I just spent four months in New Orleans doing an exchange semester (with the Jesuits) and I'm now experiencing my first solo traveling experience: a tour of the U.S. to see as most as I can of the country 🤸🏼‍♂️

In no order: I love food (I'm vegetarian but not extreme), cheese, red wine, movies (tell me about your favorite!), literature (these days I'm interested in autobiographical fiction), running (I have to get back to it), traveling and writing. Also, I'm queer 🌈

I really like street photography. I'm learning it by myself and hope to release a personal project about American cultures and urban spaces. I spend a significant amount of my free time walking in the streets of the cities I 'm visiting- I can't explain why but I don't take a lot of pictures in France. I think that's a great way to discover a new space and to experience some uncommon meets on the road!!

You can check my instagram profile (public) here: https://www.instagram.com/maximerondeau_/

I would highly recommend anyone curious about street photography to check: Constantine Manos' works on American leisure and entertainment society (American Colors) ; Harry Gruyart's works on the use of colors ; and Martin Parr's works on mass tourism.

XOXO,
M

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't think you can have full insight into a place without meeting the people who live there. They always have a lot to say about their city and give the best advice ;)

I started to use Couchsurfing while in the U.S. and I've met some wonderful human beings!! I can't wait to hear about the passions, hopes, life projects and past/new adventures of the next person CC will put on my way!!
