About Me

I'm full of life and always ready with a joke—humor is my way of connecting with the world. Words like sadness and anger don’t really exist in my vocabulary.

I’m a respectful guest and always try to do things the right way. I don’t like to disturb, and I appreciate the same in return 😉

Though I’m generally pretty quiet, I’m always up for meeting new people and sharing good conversations!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first experienced Couchsurfing in the Czech Republic, and it left such a mark on me that I promised myself I’d host travelers one day when I had a place of my own.
Now that I do, I'm happy to finally welcome you all with open arms!

For me, Couchsurfing is the best way to meet people from all around the world, share real moments, and skip the cold vibe of hotels. It’s all about connection, culture, and good conversations.

Interests

I’m a self-taught piano player; just me, the keys, and a looot of patience.

Volleyball is my true addiction. I could play all day without needing food, water, or sleep (well, almost)! It’s pure joy for me.

I also have a big passion for photography. I'm always learning and improving, and secretly dreaming of the day my work might hang in a gallery. If you’re curious, just search @maxfloriot on IG and take a look!

Professionally, I spent 8 years working in the wind power industry. I truly believe that renewable energy is a key part of building a greener, more sustainable future.

Recently, I’ve started working as a stargazing tour guide; and I absolutely love it. Guiding people through the constellations and sharing stories about the night sky is magical. There’s something deeply humbling and beautiful about looking up and realizing how vast the universe is.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 17, I took my first trip overseas to the western U.S. and it felt like stepping into a movie. Everything was wild, beautiful, and completely surreal. It was one of the best moments of my young life.

Later, I had the chance to live with a tribe deep in the forests of Vanuatu; an experience that opened my eyes in ways I can’t even describe.
I lived something similar in Vietnam, where I was invited by locals to share a dinner. We didn’t speak the same language, but the warmth, laughter, and connection made it one of the most genuine moments of my travels.

One morning in Cappadocia, Turkey, I watched the world slowly wake up from a hot air balloon floating above the surreal, moon-like valleys. As the first rays of sunlight painted the landscape gold, dozens of colorful balloons drifted silently around us. It was peaceful, magical, almost like time stood still. A moment where you just breathe in and feel totally alive.

And more recently, I worked as a stargazing tour guide in a Dark Sky Reserve in New Zealand. Guiding people through the cosmos under some of the clearest skies on Earth was probably the most challenging - and rewarding - experience of my life so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play the piano, juggle, and maybe even a few fun games. If you're interested, I can help you practice French or show you how to read the night sky. And of course, I’ll gladly show you how to party and drink like a true Frenchie!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A big smile, joy and nice conversations.
My travel experiences.
A good bottle of wine with cheeses if you come to my place.
