About Me
I'm Maxime, 26. I studied political science and I'm a french teacher, living in France.
I don't think people can be classified, but the main quality of a man is to be curious : always interrogate what he thinks is true, always try to understand other people, alwas try to discover new cultures, music, etc.
Maybe it's a classical answer on CouchSurfing but it's really what guided me in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Just had an experience in Sweden, so I hope to have others now !
Interests
My principal interests are seeing friend, reading, watch TV series.
I also make a lot of sport : I really like to run, short distances or longuer and it's really a release for me. I also practice football, basketball and swimming.
I would like to say that I like to travel but it's not so often... Now I've finished my study, I hope it will become an habit.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's really sad but I don't see so much movies. However I see much more TV series : The Wire, Twin Peaks, Six Feet Under, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Lost, The Big Bang Theory, Californication, Modern Family...
On music, I'm not demanding except if it's something like EDM. I mainly heard rap when I was young, I hear now a lot of electronic music. I really like Kompakt label (Michael Mayer, The Field, The Modernist, Closer Musik, Superpitcher, Reinhard Voigt...) and ambient, techno. Villalobos, Aril Brikha, Plastikman, Minilogue, Robag Wruhme, Stefan Bodzin. I also like stuff more slow and repetitive, William Basinski, Tim Hecker, etc.
To finish, I played piano for 5 years and it's an objective to buy one in order to play again. I like the romantic stuff, Chopin (a lot), Liszt ( and other stuff like Satie, Chabrier, Scriabin.
I think the idea behind all those artists, it's that I'm really open to differents kind of music and eager to discover new stuff.
To finish with the books, I really like Romain Gary and Albert Camus, but I try to read differents stuff and to read the original version when I can. It's too much difficult in german but usually ok in english. So I read novels of classical author, not to say "I read it" but by facility.
In social sciences, I worked in public policy so I read author of this branch. In general, I like heterodox marxists like Castoriadis, non-communists leftists like Foucault, degrowth thinkers, sociology and political science in general. I worked on water issues, so it's naturally a part of my library.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To be ginger ?
More seriously, I don't think I made yet an incredible thing. But I always tried to succeed in my study without sacrificing if only a part of social life with friends, family and lover and I'm proud of my capacity to link all those things together and to go forward.
I think I became a good person, and at 26 it's maybe more significant than what I made... it's at least a good start !
Teach, Learn, Share
My aim in life is to teach, so I think I have a "profile" of sharing without being condescending. I have an athletism course that I teach every week in a running association in Lyon, so if you need tips about running (from 10 km to marathon) I could be your man !
I also like to speak about music, social science, life in general... it's really interesting, even with more radical people, to try to speak, to understand human diversity. I don't know if I can teach or learn a lot of things but I can be curious, attentive and able to discuss about subject that led us to think about ourselves.
