About Me

I've studied and worked in filmmaking for the last 5 years of my life, as such I can write, create a story or concept focused on emotional impact and result. I'm a photographer and can handle a wide range of cameras and professional filmmaking gear, as I worked as a camera trainee on professional film sets.
I've always had a strong affinity towards creativity and am reasonably versed in musical language and instruments, acting, directing and dance.
I love creative expression of any kind, but am also aware that the realisation of that creativity requires organisation, management and responsibility, as I have been an organiser for an international filmmaking festival.
I love communicating and connecting with people and have worked with young people and children before, as well as international people from different backgrounds.
I am a very hard worker and adaptable, love learning and being taught.
I don't shy away from physical labour, or technical work and like to fill an adequate role in a community or group.
Overall I'm happy to engage with anything, gather new experiences, try out and practice any kind of work and discover more about that work and myself in the process.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hi, I'm Max and I'm from Germany and have lived in Scotland for the last 5 years of my life.
Having suppressed my natural wanderlust and curiosity for the world for the last 8-ish years in order to focus on a career in filmmaking, it has now erupted into a desire of traveling the world. I want to meet people and places and make new connections with them.
I want to experience different cultures and ways of life, not as an observer, but as closely as I can get to be a part of that life, that culture, that world and that country.
I want to be able to see what connects us, what makes us different and what makes us the same. Experience life around me as it unfolds in its reality together with those that are there with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited friends at the BBC who are working there, got entangled at their christmas party and got drunk and partied in a nostalgic reunion inside the BBC.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach/passionately talk about camera/cinematography or really anything to do with filmmaking and storytelling.

I love to learn and try new things, so really (almost) anything goes.

Share a love for life, for the arts and good times and meaningful experiences with great people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A willingness and curiosity to get to know the other person and have a good, meaningful experience meeting new people (hopefully) enriching each others lives, for a brief period.

Countries I’ve Visited
