ABOUT ME

Well... I guess long time ago when I lived in Bolivia for a while I decided that a big part of my life will be going out there and exploring our amazing World. Finished my studies and here weI'm on the road since early 2012 and I just can't think of going home. I was lucky and made good friends all over the world and hopefully will continue to do so. A short description of myself? ... meeting new people, I love independent outdoors... hiking, camping, roadtrips..., experiencing new cultures, good music, long nightlife, of the track adventures - mostly on some old rusty motorbikes :-), curious to do those "not everybody does it" things. Most people find my easy to go with... I hope that's still true :-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

During 18 month traveling around the globe I had so many locals hosting me - actually most of them by chance and not initiated by Couchsurfing - and by this letting me experience their country, culture and live in an intense way I never expected. So I owe a lot, that's why I host! ... and of course to retain a bit of the travelling spirit in my life though I'm back to normality since some time now ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All over where I have been. South-East-Asia, Nepal and Kashmir should be mentioned as there is no concept like Couchsurfing (needed!) as people just host u and share their homes with you just because you are a foreigner passing through their village... impressing!

* Mate de coca around sunset at the monestary (Sucre, Bolivia)
* Crossing the Salar de Uyuni (Bolivia/Peru/Chile)
* Hiking at Yosemite National Park at sunrise (USA)
* Roadtrip: Tel Aviv - Jerusalem - Dead Sea - Ramallah (Israel)
* Diving with the Bolivian Military in the Titicaca lake (Bolivia)
* Swimming across Mekong River from Laos to Burma (stupid idea!!!)
* Climbing Mt. Chachani, 19,931 ft (Arequipa, Peru)
* Climbing Mt. Taranaki, 8,261 ft (New Zealand)
* Riding a Royal Enfield through Kashmir's endless valleys (India)
* Trekking one month in Annapurna, camping on the pass (Nepal)
* ...

Unfortunately the new Couchsurfing System does not allow to insert Maps ... visited 50 states (22.2%).

Lehren, lernen, teilen

For me traveling means never stop learning and always try to be as open-minded to new things as somehow possible... just go with it if somethings comes up! It's difficult to point out what u can teach or share but as I experienced there is always something you can pass on... places you discovered, amazing people you met, experiences...

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

The experience that it's the better way to treat everyone you meet on your way as a friend primarily. Trust your gut feeling!
