ABOUT ME

I'm a curious, ambitious, and easy-going person looking to see more of the world. I will be teaching English in France beginning October 2012. I'm looking forward to spending some time in France, traveling around Europe, teaching, and improving mon français! A friend of mine recommended I try CSing, especially since it's a great way to meet people when you travel. I'm looking forward to meeting some great people through this great global network. I speak English, Spanish, and my French is pretty good, but it needs improvement!

I'm new to the CouchSurfing community, and since I'll be travelling for the next little while, I'll be looking to meet people and getting to know the cities I will be staying in through this community.

Interests

Music is a big passion of mine. I've been playing the piano ever since I was six and took up the guitar during my teenage years. I still play to this day and love making my own music, writing lyrics, and going to live concerts.

Reading is a big hobby of mine. I just finished a Master's degree, so I can finally read for leisure again and not feel guilty about picking up a non-fiction novel when I knew I had academic articles to read! Since I'm currently working on improving my French, I'm reading a lot of French literature. I love reading books on current affairs, history and I love picking up a good novel on mystery.

I love going to museums and art galleries and I also like staying active through sport. OH, and I love to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favourite movies of all time seem to be comedies: Get Him to the Greek, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I loved The Descendants and I will always be a fan of the Land Before Time movie series. I'm currently enjoying French film. My favourite French film is Intouchables.

As for music. I love folk music/folk rock, blues, indie rock, hip hop and rap. I'm a big fan of The Black Keys, Bon Iver, Mumford & Sons, Of Monsters and Men, Brand New, Florence + The Machine, Drake, Kid Cudi, The Cinematic Orchestra, U2, M83, Metric.

My favourite books include 1984, the Little Prince, Life of Pi. I love reading books about history, politics, and current events.

I'm currently obsessed with a television series called Suits.
