CURRENT MISSION
How to engage our community to meet the needs of our community
ABOUT ME
I love a community which looks out for each other, and which shares all of it's resources to allow for growth from within and to reduce our collective carbon footprint.
I strive to share everything I know and love, with as many people as I can. I can't wait to meet you and hear all the stories you have to tell.
PHILOSOPHY
There are no strangers in this world, just friends we haven't met yet.
Por que estou no Couchsurfing?
What motivates me to keep reaching out is the strong probability of meeting some really incredible people who are oh-so-inspiring doing what they love to do but also who are open to the alternative ways...
Interesses
You want to know morrrrrreeeee? These days I'm all about food justice and knowing where our food is coming from. And how it could come from much closer places. Grow your own or collaborate with your local growers :)
Also, I'm a huge fan of building stronger neighourly ties on the streets of our cities. By sharing more we spend less.
I can also talk about Camellia sinensis (tea). And how good it tastes when you ferment it with sugar ;)
I'm mostly vegetarian. Yoghurt and cheese are sometimes too hard to resist.
Travelling stories are fun. That's why we travel right? To live through different memorable experiences we can tell our friends and new friends :D
Músicas, Filmes e Livros
New music provides the soundtrack to my life :)
I love it when musicians stretch the boundries of the genres they play in.
Instrumental hip-hop, roots dub, indian fusion, and new age bluegrass are just some of the types of music you'll hear in my playlists.
Fresh straight from the people with the funky beats check out:
30/70, Mala, Stevy Mahy, Snarky Puppy, Gayance, Youngblood Brass band, Erykah Badu, the Home Brew Crew and Fat Freddy's Drop.
Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz
Travelling in Haiti for 3 months was pretty incredible. I lived with farmers in the south mostly and got to know several local folks doing some pretty phenomenal projects. Like rocket stoves and compacted coconut husk briquettes. I've already been back to visit again :)
Ensine, Aprenda, Compartilhe
I don't consider myself an expert but I share with you what I do know, and maybe you can fill in the gaps? P2P learning is where it's at. Did someone say skillshare?
Keeping kombucha is fun to share with people.
Also the art of bin-diving and food reclaiming. Do you have food preserving recipes? Or do you just like to put some good tasty food in your belly? Why don't we share and learn together over a hearty meal sometime :)
