About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go everywhere to meet everyone. Then contemplate my own existence.

Wells. listen to sixties prog rock. study. imagine what life was like in 1968. meet new people. play poker. blog. indulge in political philosophy. read Marx. meet Beethoven. smoke. make soup. photograph. eat soup. play the piano until my fingers bleed. visit someone. do something unexpected. meet someone random. sleep. wake up.

PHILOSOPHY

"The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is to change it" (Marx)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My anticipation to participate in CS excites, time spent couch-surfing is something that will remain memorable far longer than a stay in a hotel. Time spent with a local will remain memorable far longer than time spent following the commands of a tour guide or 'rep'. Not seeing places of interests as merely buildings but understanding the importance of the people in those buildings is something that stands dear to me. I look forward to my many years couch-surfing with anticipation, and enormous admiration for the community that has been created.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch-surfing life is short lived, yet let this not be an indication of my desire to couch-surf. I have become open to the idea for many months, my housemate having introduced me to the concept.

Interests

I like Chopin. I like soup. I like noticing things that everyday life makes us ignore; the pennies on the street, the birds on the window ledges. I like writing short discussions to myself. I like writing long rants to other people. I like Steinbeck. I like Nixon. I hate Bush, and not because it's cool. I like the rain. I like silence. I like Jimi Hendrix. I would have liked to have dinner with Ronnie Wood in his coke days. I love politics. I love questioning everything, and talking about nearly everything. Most importantly, I like you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a 15 year old on his first long haul flight, I was awake all night on the way to Australia so was one of few people to see the whole night sky below flashing and glowing in the most beautiful thunderstorm. The poetry alone was enough to make it last.
