About Me

I am a collector of experiences, I like to savor food from around the world, have a deep understanding of culture. I am born and raised in San Francisco, California to Chinese-immigrant parents. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people and hearing their stories is a great way to learn about the world and history. There is nothing better than having genuine experiences in foreign cultures which allows us to deepen our knowledge of the world and allow us to take that experience and try to make the world a better place.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Colbie Callait, India Arie, Frou Frou, Imogen Heap, Four Tet, Maroon 5, etc. Genres tend to be in electro, synth, pop, or female vocals.

Movies: The Namesake; Matrix (trilogy); The Fifth Element; Chef; 200 Pounds Beauty (Korean); God of Gamblers (series, Chinese Cantonese); Midnight in Paris; Inception; Amelie (French); Eat, Pray, Love and numerous documentaries by Vice, National Geographic, etc.

Books: I plan on catching up on reading books while on the RTW trip. Though I love "Sh*t My Dad Says," "Nickel and Dimed" and am currently slowly reading "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed and " Invisible Cities" by Italo Calvino when I have downtime from reading work-related stuff, blogs, and guidebooks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydive and river raft. Also I have stayed at a temple with monks in Mt. Koyasan while visiting Japan, the morning prayer was a unique experience I will never forget.
