Hi everyone,

My name is Mayya and I am a 25 y.o. Russian living in San Francisco.

I am returning back on Couchsurfing after 5 long years!!! It feels very nostalgic because the last time I used it was in 2018 when I traveled in Italy over my gap year prior to coming to the United States. I am coming back because I am hoping to find people to stay/travel with around Hawaii in October 2023.

Here is a little bit about myself: Since 2018, I have been living in the US, initially as a student at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, and currently as a young professional in San Francisco. While I am presently taking a work break, my prior role was with a non-profit that helps individuals facing extreme poverty in East Africa

I am an experienced and adventurous traveler with experience living in Russia, Italy, Egypt and the US. At this moment in my life, I am looking for a way to authentically experience Hawaiian culture, live sustainably on the land and connect with wonderful individuals. In the past, Couchsurfing hosts enriched my understanding of local cultures and enabled me to explore places beyond the typical tourist viewpoint. I am ready to help with any kind of project and home maintenance if needed.

I understand that after the devastating wildfires, Maui is experiencing hard times. I would like to come and be helpful to the people of the island in the best possible way. My travel plans are set for October. Ideally, I would like to start my journey in early October and stay for about 3 weeks.
