About Me

I work for a non-profit that exists on multiple college campuses, and I plan events and try to recruit students to come to us regularly. It's a fun job, but not all that fulfilling. In a few years, I want to go back to school to get a Masters in Education so I can teach high school English.

I've been wanting to travel for a while, but finding work out of school was really difficult and I've been trying to build a savings to make traveling less stressful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm making entry-level nonprofit money, so my traveling budget is a little tight. Not to mention, this is a fantastic way to meet people and make friends all over the world! I didn't study abroad in college and I feel like now is my time to try and have those great experiences in new countries. And if I can return the favor and make someone's trip to the Bay Area a little easier, why not?

Music, Movies, and Books

I have terrible taste in music, let's not even talk about it. Like it's so much pop garbage... it's embarrassing.

My favorite books are Dracula, Jane Eyre, Remains of the Day, The Island of Dr. Moreau, pretty much anything kinda creepy and written from 1890-now.

My favorite movie by far is The Fall (2005). But I love movies in general, I don't think I'm too picky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a month during summer in high school living in a national park in Vermont and building a drainage system underneath one of the trails! In high school I was part of an organization called the Student Conservation Association and we would do a lot of park maintenance, trail building, stuff like that. During the school year I'd go on weekend trips once a month, but after my first year I got to do a summer crew for a full month. I wish I could have gone every summer, but it's a free trip and the organization didn't have enough donors. I feel very lucky to have gone even once, and I hope one day I can go back to that park and see how my trail is doing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a pretty decent cook and I would be glad to make dinner for my hosts (clean-up included). I'm also down to help deep clean the house, help out with chores, buy some basic groceries, whatever makes my stay easier on you!
