Overview
About Me
I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, a prairie province in the middle of Canada. I'm taking a break from my liberal arts degree to do some travelling solo in Europe. I love learning from other people and places. I have previously hosted others and stayed with hosts during a three-month exchange program to Hamburg, Germany and a French language program in Quebec City, Canada. I'm very excited to see new places and meet new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing to meet new people, experience other cultures and places not just through tourist attractions, have conversations that challenge my opinions.
Interests
I'm interested in live music, arts & culture, social justice, playing cello, hiking, cycling, feminism, food, crafts (like sewing and knitting), pop culture and coffee.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love pop and "indie"/alternative and being exposed to new music. Some of my favourite artists include Carly Rae Jepsen, Beyonce, Drake, Jack Johnson, MIA, the 1975, Bombay Bicycle Club, We Are the City, Icona Pop and MIKA. One Direction is my guilty pleasure.
Harry Potter was my life growing up. Also Anne of Green Gables.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once butchered a pig (with a bunch of other people) and processed the pork to make farmer sausage.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to knit, I am moderately fluent/ conversational in both French (with a confused Franco-manitoban/ Quebecois accent) and German (and English is my first language). I can teach you how to knit, tell you about Canadian history (I have worked as a costumed tour guide at a historic site), Canadian culture and politics (my degree is in Politics and Urban studies).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer you good conversation, I am considerate, friendly and tidy and I would love to get to know you and where you live!
Countries I’ve Visited
England, France, Germany, Israel, Netherlands, Palestine, Scotland
