A little adventure
ABOUT ME
I try to stay open to new experiences and healthy risk taking--and CouchSurfing has been great for that. I have made some very dear friends here over the years, and look forward to more. For fun, I like to whitewater kayak, hike, travel, read. For work, I manage health research projects in the US and overseas. I'm a Berkeley native, and Berkeley is my home again after many years living and traveling abroad (Brazil, Africa, Nepal) and elsewhere in the US. I very much enjoy the energy, artistry and beauty of this part of the world, and am happy to share that with others.
PHILOSOPHY
Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves. ~J.M. Barrie
Adventure is worthwhile. ~Amelia Earhart
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I learned about couchsurfing in 2005 from a stranger in a bar. What a cool idea! I thought and the next month tried it for the first time on a trip to South Africa. It was a very positive experience that added another dimension to my short visit. Essentially I became a couchsurfing convert and since then have hosted many people from around the world.
