Overview
About Me
My name is Maya, I am a 23 years old girl that really loves to travel, which is probably the number one requirement to be on CS :') . I like travelling because it opens our minds on the world, it gives us the chance to meet new people, to understand the world. I am a student in Montreal, Canada, in Sociology, and I really hesitated between that and translation or litterature. I really enjoy learning new languages and I really enjoy to write. I love to cook (mostly pasta dishes), to do yoga (very bad at it tough), bookshop visiting, i love to read.
I like to listen to music, watch movies, go for long walks in the streets, drink beers, enjoy the nightlife. I recently found out i am a techno club enthousiast.
I fight for environmental issues and feminism, i don't tolerate racism or sexism.
Capitalism will never work.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing because I think it is a good way to meet new people, to learn how they live, to live with local people of the country we are visiting and not staying in a Hotel where we dont learn anything about the country where we are in.
Local people know more about the country, the city, the musts.
I used couchsurfing when i went in backpack trips around europe with a friend, and i met fantastic hosts, i really had only positive experiences. We used her couchsurfing account when we were travelling, here is her profile if you want to see more references about me as a traveler : https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2002919549
I met people i still am in touch 3 years after so i would definitly do it again,
Interests
I like, like I said before, litterature, sociology, philosophy, history, social sciences, writing, learning...
I really enjoy reading and sharing about authors and books that I have read and that other people have read.
I like to learn new things, new meals to cook, try new bars, etc .
I am very open minded and I like to know how other people think, it opens my horizons.
I am also a big fan of Harry Potter!
I like traveling for sure...typical interest if you are on couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I recently updated this section because i realised that i have so many favorite books, movies, and music that it is quite difficult to categorize! But i would say that im really a book enthousiast and currently, my favorite book is 100 years of solitude.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have done two immersions of 3 months, one in Austria when I was 15 years old and one in Indonesia when I was 18 years old. I also did a 6 month erasmus semester in Berlin in 2019. I think those experiences made the person who I am today and they have shown me that how we live since we are born are not necessairly the way we have to live for our entire life. We can change and I think that everyone should try to improve themselves everyday.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to share my hapiness, maybe my language skills if someone would like to learn french, english or indonesian.
I you come to Montréal, I would like to be able to show people how incredible montreal city is.
To help surfers dicovers the best spots, all the festivals, the vibe of montreal, the artists from montreal, the movies from quebec people, etc etc etc...Montreal is one of my favorite cities in the world and i want to share this love for my city with travelers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my hapiness, I can cook food (sometimes it is really bad but i'll try my best), maybe MAKE POUTINE, (even if it wont be as good as a real 3 a.m. poutine from the local restaurant)...
