ABOUT ME
(Real descriptions from friends): Although small in stature, Maya is HUGE in spirit. Adventurous, fun-loving, ambitious, caring, a good cook, and a great listener, Maya is always excited to be in new places meeting new people.
(What I would say): I just finished a year of traveling and learning about astronomy education all over the world. Now I'm nesting in DC, loving building community and continuing working in science education.
PHILOSOPHY
"Take chances! Make mistakes! Get Messy!" - Ms. Frizzle (from the Magic School Bus)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfed a lot as I traveled the world, and now hoping to give back to the community by hosting!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Through CS, I've met some incredible people that I would have never found otherwise. Some have had lives that are coincidentally parallel to my own, and some who have had completely different experiences from me. CS has taught me unexpected things about this complicated and remarkably intertwined world, and I am glad to be a part of it!
Interests
When not looking at stars with friends or students, I can be found playing ultimate frisbee, climbing trees, hiking, biking, spending time in the ocean, or adventuring overall.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The night sky in Chile. Seeing the Milky Way with such clarity for the first time reinforced why I'm passionate about astronomy.
