Overview
About Me
I am down-to-earth kind of guy willing to make long lasting friendships. I value sincerity, kindness, compassion, flexibility and at times good humor. I am an idealist, but also somewhat of a skeptic. I enjoy traveling, good beer, originality, farmers markets, and can spend hours in nature. I am a vegetarian and appreciate animals as much as I appreciate my neighbors.
I earned a PhD and my area of research is primarily focused on public health. I also have a few super powers of my own. For instance, I can make red lights turn green by staring intensely at them, and sometimes I can make dogs understand where I point. Nonetheless, I am dedicated musician and most recently the recorder (flauta dulce) is my instrument of choice. I am also an activist in several community-based organizations...yes I believe that another world is possible. A few things that I dislike: arrogance, television and commercials with jingles, sugar in coffee, and Opera Winfrey (she bugs me!). Se Habla Español !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't have much money for many reasons and couchsurfing has allowed me the opportunity to travel without much. My current life goal is to travel as much as I can and make long lasting friendships, learn about different cultures. I have decided not to sell my soul to the corporate world and instead travel the world as much as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
So many! Not a fair question but here are a few:
Reggae simply because it's the voice of the people, classical music because you can become a time traveler, Folk and Indie Pop are fine with me, etc etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've played Baroque music on the recorder along with other violinists and double-bass at open mics!
Teach, Learn, Share
My current life goal is to travel as much as I can and make long lasting friendships and learn about different cultures.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am willing to buy groceries, cook, and share meals with my hosts. My friends consider me to be a great cook, although sometimes I am suspicious of their kind remarks. I'd be happy to help out with chores around the house and support the host in any way I can. I don't mind cleaning and washing dishes.
Countries I’ve Visited
Bermuda, Chile, India, Mexico, Peru
