Everybody calls me May. I love to read, to travel, to meet new people and new places. I like the nature; eco-tourism , hikes, mountains, beach and rivers.

Me and my boyfriend made most of the furniture around the house and we have a spare room too, so not need to sleep in the couch (but I've taken naps in the couch and is really comfy).

I used to work for a Non profit organization that executes project in Haiti. But know i am doing a master in TE/SFL (Teaching english/spanish as a foreign language) and teaching English at a local university (UTESA).

I am involved on activities with the Rotary club on a national and international level.

i am not a party person, i prefer more casual and small gatherings with friends and a good beer or wine and a nice dinner at home. i don't like loud music or crowded places.

i am into gardening (for the first time in my life), jewelry making, painting (very amateur level), i love to go on bike rides :)

We have 2 dogs called Paula and Lunatica (Luna) and they are my babies, they are part of my family.

Todo el mundo me llama May. Me encanta leer, viajar, conocer gente y lugares nuevos. Me gusta la naturaleza; eco-turismo, excursiones, la montaña, la playa y los ríos.

Yo y mi novio hemos hecho la mayor parte de los muebles de la casa y tenemos una habitación libre también, así que no hay que dormir en el sofá (pero me he tomado algunas siestas en el sofá y es muy cómoda).

Yo solía trabajar para una organización sin fines de lucro que realiza proyectos en Haití. Pero ahora estoy haciendo una maestría en TE / SFL (La enseñanza de Inglés / español como lengua extranjera) y enseñanzo Inglés en una universidad local (UTESA).

Estoy involucrada en actividades con el club rotario a nivel nacional e internacional.

no soy una persona fiestera, prefiero más encuentros informales y pequeños con los amigos y una buena cerveza o vino y una buena cena en casa. no me gusta la música alta o lugares muy concurridos.

estoy en interesada en la jardineria (por primera vez en mi vida), la fabricación de joyas, pintura (nivel muy aficionado), me encanta ir de paseos en bicicleta :)

Tenemos 2 perras llamadas Paula y Lunatica (Luna) y ellas son mis hijas, son parte de mi familia.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

the opportunity to show others the way your community is and how people live, can only be given by a local, since i like to get to meet new cultures and share my experiences, Couchsurfing is a way to open up their minds to what is the reality of the place a live in. Many things that i have learned (music, customs, food, drinks) have been due to exchange with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

And, also is a way to help someone out, which i would like someone else to do for me.

La oportunidad de mostrar a los demás la forma en que su comunidad es y cómo vive la gente, sólo puede ser dada por un local, ya que me gustara llegar a conocer nuevas culturas y compartir mis experiencias, Couchsurfing es una manera de abrir sus mentes a lo que es la realidad del lugar en donde vivo. Muchas cosas que he aprendido (música, costumbres, alimentos, bebidas), han sido debido al intercambio con personas de diferentes culturas y orígenes.

Y, también es una manera de ayudar a alguien, que me gustaría alguien que lo haga por mí.

good music in general, but something along the line of Hindi Zahra, Parov Stellar, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Anouk, Blind Mellon, Cold Play, Macy Gray, Three days grace, Milky Chance

movies; well, it depends on the plot. recently i saw Selma, Divergent and Insurgent, the girl with the dragon tattoo (which i've seen before, but i wanted to compare the american version with the Swedish version).

Book; i like science fiction, super natural stuff (vampires, ware wolfs, magic and fantasy), mystery (primarily thrillers and detective novels).

My favorite authors are Mario Vargas Llosa, Marco Veloz Maggiolo, Cassandra Claire.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Last year i had the best Christmas ever, i went up Pico Duarte with some friends, is a 3,100 ft mountain. is the highest peak in the Caribbean. It was as cold as the opposite of Hell and such a beautiful place.
