Overview
About Me
PLEASE NOTE I AM CURRENTLY GETTING WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE MESSAGES FROM FAKE PROFILES CLAIMING TO BE MEN IN THE US. AT LEAST TWO A DAY. I DO NOT RESPOND TO FRIEND REQUESTS FROM PEOPLE I DON'T KNOW. NEITHER DO I RESPOND TO MESSAGES THAT SIMPLY SAY "HELLO". IF YOU'RE A GENUINE COUCHSURFER, YOU'LL KNOW WHAT TO DO TO ARRANGE STAYING WITH US AND WE WILL BE HAPPY TO HOST YOU.
CURRENT MISSION
contentment and to be at peace with myself.
ABOUT ME
a real mixed bag...most of it good i hope...
PHILOSOPHY
Try not to regret anything. Everything that happens to you is a chance to learn and grow.
"Love all the people" Bill Hicks
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
generally by saying to folk planning to go travelling (or already travelling) with little money "have you heard of couchsurfing?..." often following it up with "yes, but how do they know YOU'RE not a mad axe murderer...."
Interests
Film and music and reading...see below...
Food...glorious food...especially trying stuff I haven't had before. I could eat my way round the world...unfortunately what with being an awkward vegan wot is allergic to milk, tomatoes, peppers, citrus fruits and chocolate (yes, really) it gets a little tough at times.
Decent beer...whisky...pina coladas...sometimes wine...drink more tea than is good for me
Dancin'
The Great Outdoors, wildlife, conservation.
Taking lots and lots of photos (it's ok if I'm behind the lens)
Greenwood crafts and self build. One day I will have that oak frame and straw bale house...
Wanna learn to dive.
Like washing up, hate drying. Probably shouldn't put that under interests. Sounds like I have an OCD.
Fantasy dinner party guests: Bill Hicks, Jaz Coleman, Johnny Depp, Alan Moore, John Constantine (well it is fantasy), Kevin Smith and Andrew Eldritch

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: where to start...where to end....noisy industrial goth, indie, punk, pop, rock, dub, ska, dance, gypsy, bizarre punk cabaret (well, how does one describe the Tiger Lillies?!)... pretty much anything except free form jazz. Guilty pleasure track: Hanson's Mmm Bop....
Film: like the music, where to start....where to end...will watch and usually enjoy pretty much anything from independent films, to asian horror to Legally Blonde to Ice Age 2.... One can definitely never have too much Jay and Silent Bob: Can watch Kevin Smith stuff back to back, on a loop...
Books: Terry Pratchett, Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Shantaram, graphic novels/comics, Calvin and Hobbes...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
don't know what counts as amazing but giving flowers to strangers puts a real bounce in my step :-)
Teach, Learn, Share
meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
don't wear sunglasses when hitching
wetwipes are the best invention of the 20th century...well one of them anyway...just a shame they aren't v biodegradable :-(
have a good first aid kit and packets of dehydration salts. micropore tape stops blisters before they happen.
you only really need 2 things in life to fix stuff, gaffer tape and wd40. if it moves and it shouldn't, gaffer tape it. if it doesn't move and it should, use the wd40.
if you're in a car crash at 30mph or more, see a chiropractor...it'll come back and haunt you if you don't.
gut instincts are to be trusted.
