ABOUT ME

I'm Mayu.I grew up in Kumamoto, I went to a university in this city.I'm always in here,so I like traveling!

I'm interested in culture from foreign countries.
I like meeting people from other countries.

I usually talk in English with CouchSurfers. But I've never studied English abroad and my English isn't perfect.
I try to speak French when I meet French speakers. I understand spoken French,but I can't speak it well. English is much better.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In Kumamoto, I would love to have coffee or a drink with travelers. I'm interested in their travel stories, culture of their countries and how they think about my city.

When I travel abroad, I'd like to make friends through this site. I'd like to stay with local people when I have my 2nd visit to the country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined a CouchSurfing meeting 4 times. My friend asked me to go there. Hosted 2 times, Surfed 3 times, Coffee or a drink 4 times.
All of the CS members I've met were wonderful!

Interests

Museums, Arts, Books, Dining out, History, Shopping, Dolls(Blythe), Collecting postcards, Yoga, making greeting cards with Japanese masking tapes

I like going to cafe!I enjoy coffee, sweets, reading magazines, and the atmosphere there. I visit 2-3 cafes a week in Kumamoto city.
So I also interested in drinks of all over the world.I like the a la menthe, Hong Kong style milk tea, Vietnamese coffee, Taiwanese bubble tea(Japanese one is bad..) etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

music: French pop(like Thomas Fersen, Olivia Ruiz, Vincent Delerm etc.). Quebecois neo-trad music(like Les Cowboys Fringants).60's-70's French pop(like France Gall, Serge Gainsbourg etc.)
I'm also interested in Taiwanese pop(like Jay Chou).

films: Amadeus, Memories of Matsuko, La Gloire de Mon Pere, What's Eating Gilbert Grape

books: I like Japanese novels. I also read Haruki Murakami, but other authors aren't known in other countries.

Teach, Learn, Share

Easy Japanese vocabularies and Kumamoto(Kyushu)dialect.
And I can give advice about tourism in Kumamoto and Kyushu(like Aso, Beppu, Fukuoka, Nagasaki)
