COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Minda sez: A few summers ago I ended up in the home of an autistic artist and some college students. We had meals together every night and it definitely lightened the load of my research being around these really animated, interesting folks. The following year, I did my first couch surf in Northampton near where I do my field work. It was a great experience, being put up on the couch of a Smith student. Those ladies are super cool -- though they may object to me calling them "ladies"..... I've also stayed with a Mt Holyoke student as well, we ended up watching Project Runway all night -- which may not be culturally enlightening, but had a sort of girly appeal.....and wow, those cats can sew.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Minda likes to keep her movies, books and music light. Will likes to keep them pretty heavy. Minda is obsessed with Law and Order. Will is obsessed with Adventure Time.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Between the two of us we've been to.
Peru, Guatemala, Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama, India, Spain (and other western European spots), Hungary, S. Korea, China, Japan.....We like to travel and meet people and We pretty much have crazy stories from everywhere We've been, so take us to coffee and we can share.
Will lived in China for a bit and has many amusing stories about his experiences.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Minda can share:
Knowledge of biology, plant and animal life, hiking, psychology, etc., random facts of interest, computer knowledge, website design. I love to cook and will spend time in the kitchen with anyone interested in learning or trading trade secrets. Also I recently got a job in viticulture, so I could probably share some secrets of the wine industry....

I know nothing about engineering or building things, but somehow end up doing engineering and building things a lot-- sometimes well and sometimes not so much...but if you have a broken TV, shower, computer, gas chromatography machine, vacuum filtration unit...whatever, I'd be glad to try to fix it :)
