About Me

My name is Maximiliano, people call me Max. I was born in Chile, South America. But I currently live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a very charismatic and friendly guy who is always keen to meeting new people. I enjoy food so much and love to discover new food joints everywhere I go. I try to travel at least once a year and I hope to meet wonderful people on my journeys who I can exchange culture and language with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I believe meeting new people gives us a bigger spectrum of reality, getting to know different cultures and their way of thinking is nourishing for people's souls. I can't host, but I am more than happy to meet up with travelers from everywhere for a cup of coffee, a dinner, or whatever. As I stated before, I also enjoy traveling myself and I am hoping to meet people who can show me around and share a bit of their culture with me. I will always be accepting tips about where to go, specially if that includes historical places where I can learn about the history of the place I am visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kind of music and I am the kinda of person who listens to different Spotify playlists depending on my mood. If I feel very cheerful I might listen to some pop, if I want to relax I would listen to some lo-fi music, etc.
I truly enjoy horror films, even though I haven't watch many lately that have had the impact some did when I was younger. Some of my favourite movies of all time would have to be The Descent, Alien, The Grudge and The Ring.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most amazing thing I have done was to pack my things and move to a completely different continent. I am originally from South America and I gotta say that moving to Australia when I was 24 on my own was not easy, many cultural differences and the language barrier made it difficult and many times I questioned myself whether I had made the right choice. Now, after a while, I can say that I could not be happier here, I have met fantastic people along the way and I surely feel I belong here.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am all about sharing. Sharing experiences, sharing language, sharing food, etc. I am a person who believes we should become one as a community while keeping all our individual essence that makes us unique. I would love to meet people who can share some of themselves with me and I am always open to share some of my life experiences with other people no matter race, religion, age, gender, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences living in Australia as an immigrant. I try to travel often so I am happy to give other people tips about where to go and how to approach things in countries where language can be a barrier, I am also happy to share some of my great (I hope) cooking skills.
