About Me

I work in marketing for a company that puts on music, arts and food festivals so I'm extremely lucky with some of the experiences I get to have with my job.

I enjoy sports, live music, eating at good restaurants and craft beer!

I’ve travelled and couch surfed across several continents and have been to many many countries and am looking to now give back - I love meeting new people from other cultures and cities.

Interests

I really have a diverse range of interests, and I seem to struggle to get into any one thing in huge depth. I'm a massive sports fan, but then I'm also a fan of film/music/reading (I really wish I got more time to spend involved in this). The arts, dining, travel experiences, I seem to find something to talk about with most people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the usual - a lot of Tarantino! Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Bastards, Shawshawk Redemption, American Beauty, Office Space to name a few . There really isn't too much I don't like, I think there's a time for all kinds of music.

I mainly like to read non-fiction and autobiographies, mainly because I really enjoy learning about new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling for six months across Europe (and Morocco) after having never been on a plane in my life (or left the country) was a pretty eye opening/life changing experience. A couple of years later I also travelled for six months across North America and Europe.

Some others include:

- Sitting down and drinking mint tea with a shoe salesman in Morocco

- Sleeping in a train station in Wales after staying up through the night to save money on a train fare

- Inadvertently going to a LBGT music festival because it was free and I couldn't read French.

- Climbing a mountain, includes parts on my hands and knees in Washington

- Playing a game of street cricket with a random group of young Indian men I introduced myself to in Montreal

- Swimming with (and kissing) a sting-ray in the Cayman Islands

- Snorkelling over a coral reef in Belize

- Driving from Croatia to Sarajevo in a day with only a paper road map...got lost a couple of times and took a while but we did it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can explain the intricacies of Australian Football League, a sport (mostly) played only in, and unique to Australia. I can also try to explain cricket to you as well... if you've ever switched to a sport channel in the middle of the night and seen a weird game being played by Australians, it was probably one of them.

I also love to talk about my work - so if you're interesting in marketing, public relations, events, music, festivals, food and the arts I'm very interested!
